Village Hall news - November 2011

Village Hall Annual General Meeting / Annual Report

The Annual General Meeting was held on 19th October 2011.  Reports were given by the Secretary, Treasurer and Chairman detailing Hall finances, bookings, maintenance, activities and progress on the revitalisation scheme.

All is set out in detail in the Annual Report, which can be seen on the Threlkeld Community Website http://www.threlkeldweb.co.uk/village-hall-report-2011.

Six Committee members were appointed.  A special meeting has been called to consider cooptions, and full details of the new Management Committee will be given in the next newsletter.

After the meeting, David Robinson outlined the National Park’s proposals to develop a family cycle route around Thirlmere, which would involve cycle related developments (e.g. cycle hire) at the north end of the lake and Legburnthwaite; and possibly a “park and ride” system linking into Threlkeld, with people parking their cars here and taking their bikes on a bus to and from Thirlmere.
