Here it is – the competition winner – a design submitted by Barbara Lowesmith, of 2 Church View. Congratulations and thanks to Barbara for this cheerful and we hope popular design. We were overwhelmed by the number of entries. The choice was difficult but democratic.

All the people (about 20-25) at the Annual Meeting of the Village Hall Trust/Public Room on 17 October considered the entries and then voted on them; first to whittle them down to a short list, and then the short list designs were eliminated one by one (just like Strictly Come Dancing). The final four were all very good and quite different designs; Barbara emerged the winner.

The winning design will now appear on Threlkeld mugs and T-shirts. The proceeds from these will go towards the Village Hall Revitalisation Fund. We hope to have stocks in time for Christmas – details next month – but if anyone want to place an order contact Caroline Greenway – price is likely to be T-shirts £10, mugs £5.
