The 2007 end of season drainage work seems to have been successful so hopefully we will lose fewer matches to the weather this year.
John Webster will again Captain the senior team and as ever we are working hard at getting more Threlkeld villagers playing for the team. Practice night is Monday at 6.00pm and, if you fancy playing for the village, we would like to see you at the nets at this time.
A new midweek league has been set up - The Villages Midweek Cricket League - and matches will be played on Wednesday nights with players wearing whites. Richard Allen has volunteered to be in charge of this team and there are just 8 local teams involved in order to cut down on travelling. The first round of matches start on May 14th.
The Under13 team this year will be Captained by Sam Sharp and Under11s by Charlie Robson. Several junior players have attended winter coaching sessions and three mothers have undertaken and passed coaching courses over the winter - Carol Sharp, Gillian Winter and Sylvia Daley. This is great news for the Club and bodes well for a good junior season - the more helpers the better! We look forward to plenty of village support this season.
Junior coaching and practice will be on Tuesday evenings from 5.30pm until 7.00pm starting on TUESDAY APRIL 15th. We hope to see lots of children at the ground on that evening!
