Theatre by the Lake Recruitment Drive
You will all know of the Keswick Theatre by the Lake. Most of you will know that the smartly dressed people who tear tickets at the auditoria doors, sell programmes, sell ice creams, etc. are volunteers (known as Front of House Volunteers) but perhaps less of you will know that Threlkeld plays a unique part in the provision of such volunteers.
For well over 10 years Threlkeld volunteers have had an arrangement with the Theatre whereby three volunteers are provided every Saturday evening. Threlkeld has its own sub group which works to its own rota and this way we independently supply the volunteers as described above. However, our numbers are dwindling. Is there anyone out there in the village or across at the quarry who would like to do something useful, meet new people, learn the workings of the theatre and benefit from complimentary tickets for all the in-house productions as well as favourable pricing for outside productions? The 'commitment' at the moment works out at one Saturday evening session per month.
If you think you may be interested in joining the Threlkeld rota (affectionately known as the Threlkeld Mafia), all the information you need, plus application form, can be found on the Theatre by the Lake website, or ring me. Should you wish to volunteer you would be invited in to the Theatre for a friendly chat and then put through a very straight forward 'shadowing' programme. All very easy and good fun.
