Paper & Card Box Scheme - doorstep recycling collection For the recycling of newspapers, magazines, junk mail, envelopes, catalogues, directories, cardboard and card packaging (eg cereal packets). Place your green box on the kerbside before 7am on the morning of collection. Collections are every other Thursday: April 12 & 26, May 10 & 24, June 7 & 21, Jly 5 & 19, Aug 2, 16 & 30, Sept. 13 & 27, Oct 11 & 25, Nov 8 & 22, Dec 6 & 20, Jan 2008 3, 17 & 31, Feb 14 & 28, March 13 & 27 DO NOT PUT MATERIAL INTO THE BLUE PLASTIC BAGS USED FOR THE NORMAL REFUSE COLLECTION – THESE WILL NOT BE PICKED UP. For the recycling of bottles, paper, cans, clothes etc the recycling centre is located opposite the school on Blease Road (money raised goes to the School). Plastic bottles and plastic bags can be recycled in the large cage situated in the Public Car Park located at the rear of the Public Rooms. The garden waste skip is also located in the Car Park on every other weekend during the Summer. Bin day for normal refuse collection is every Tuesday with the exception of Bank Holidays. Blue bags should be placed in an obvious position before 10am. For Threlkeld Quarry wheelie bin collections, Thursday early morning. There is a Civic Amenity site (ie a "dump") for household refuse, garden materials, rubble etc at Flusco, just off the A66 about half way between Threlkeld and Penrith.
