Walk Cumbria
The team of Walkers is arriving in the area on Saturday 28th April, and will join us from Wednesday 2nd May onwards, staying for two nights at the Youth Centre, and two nights in Threlkeld Public Room.
The team is being led by Thomas Fawcett, a farmer from Lancashire. Please pray for all the team members: Thomas Fawcett, Tim Hall, Gordon Summers, Davy Tayler, Mervyn Nugent, Peter Murkin, Ian Murray and Boris Bibko.
The team members will all be identifiable by the blue “Walk Cumbria” sweatshirts. Please introduce yourselves if you meet them either on the streets, at the various events, or as they visit some of the homes around the area.
On the next page is a programme of activities for the week, the events in italics are open meetings being held in and around the Keswick area, some of them are ticket only events eg Curry Night, Lyzzick Hotel and Night of Colour The tickets are available from the Crosthwaite Parish Office, in the Parish Rooms.
Please use these opportunities to invite your friends along.
Three events particularly to note:
WELCOME MEAL – Youth Centre Wednesday 6.30pm, the Walkers will arrive from Borrowdale to stay at the Centre, we are going to welcome them with a meal, it’s a good opportunity to meet the team. There will also be a short time of worship and prayer for the week.
QUIZ NIGHT – Thirlmere Recreation Hall, Thursday 7pm Come along as a team, or just turn up on the night and there will be others looking for team members to join with. We are also hoping to welcome Bishop James to the evening, and there will be an opportunity to Quiz the Bishop – think up some “hard” questions for him.
FAMILY FUN EVENING – Threlkeld Public Room, Friday 7pm
An evening of entertainment and fun for all the family. Paul Woodman, an escapologist, will be with us for the first half of the evening. There will be a pie & pea supper, and we will also welcome John Margereson and his wife, who are puppeteers in the second half of the evening.
