Annual Church Meeting
The Annual Meetings will take place on Monday 16th April, 7.30pm at the Church. At the meeting we receive reports about the life of the church and deanery over the past twelve months, receive the accounts and elect churchwardens and PCC members for the coming year.
In preparation for the annual meeting, the Electoral Roll is being renewed, and if anyone would like to join the church’s electoral roll, please contact Roger Stevens.
The annual meeting will be followed by a shortened PCC meeting.

Walk Cumbria – Coffee & Chat Event
On one of the wettest Saturdays in March, which also happened to be St. Patrick’s Day, we managed to raise just over 」220 during the day. Several walkers enjoyed the hot coffee, biscuits and cakes after their journeys up Blencathra. The event itself was held jointly with St. John’s in the Vale to whom we owe our thanks for their part in organising the day. Good Friday Services and Walk.

On Good Friday, 6th April, we are planning a short service at St. John’s in the Vale at 11.00am followed by picnic lunch and walk, ending at St. Mary’s Threlkeld for a service at 2pm.
This will be a great family event, and at various places on the walk we have a bible reading and prayer, following the events of Good Friday as Jesus made the journey to Jerusalem and to his death on the Cross.
Don’t forget to bring your packed-lunch with you.

The Walkers are coming….
From 28th April to 6th May we will have a team of men joining us from all parts of the country as part of the Walk Cumbria Mission. They will be involved in a number of activities in and around the parish. In addition there are some events planned centrally in Keswick, to which all are invited. These are open to all, and are arranged so that you can take a friend along with you. In addition look out for the posters and information which will be distributed around the parish in the coming weeks with details of all events in and around Threlkeld & St. John’s in the Vale.

In St. John’s in the Vale and Threlkeld, a team of around 8-10 men will join us for part of the week, the team is going to be led by Tom Fawcett a farmer from Lancashire.

From Wednesday to Friday they will be staying in the Annexe of the Youth Centre at St. John’s in the Vale. From Friday to Sunday they will be staying in Threlkeld Public Room. During the four days in our parishes, they will take part in a number of coffee mornings and evening events. If you would like to host a coffee morning in your home, please let us know, and we will arrange for one or two of the team members to come along too. They will also be seen around the parish doing a survey of Christian belief, please give them a warm welcome.

During their stay, they will have their breakfasts and packed lunches provided.

Wednesday evening, there will be a meal and open evening for all at St. John’s in the Vale, with a short service and prayers for the Walk Cumbria.

Friday evening, there will be a family party night in Threlkeld Public Room with Pie & Pea Supper.

On Thursday and Saturday evenings we would like to provide members of the team with meals in homes around the parish. If you would like to invite two members of the team for a meal in your home, please let us know as soon as possible, we will need up to 8 homes, 4 on Thursday and 4 on Saturday.
