Local Plan Review

The Local Plan Review is your opportunity to help shape the Lake District as an inspirational example of sustainable development in action for the next 15years.

As the local planning authority for the whole of the Lake District National Park we have a statutory responsibility to keep up-to-date local development documents, and decide on planning applications. To get this right, we need to consult and engage with you. We want you to tell us if you think what we are suggesting is right.

What’s happened so far?

Following our previous engagement with local communities, we have been collecting further evidence to build on the issues and opportunities you raised. It is from this evidence that our suggested policy options are being developed. You can view the evidence reports across a variety of topics on our Local Plan: The Story So Far

How you can get involved…

The policy options will be put out to public consultation in May and June 2018. We’ll be visiting a number of locations across the Lake District and we’re also inviting people to take part online.  The date and locations of our events will be announced online in the next few weeks.
