Studies Centre at Blencathra in the Lake
District National Park on Thursday 27th July as part of his first visit to a
National Park in his new role.Tim Foster ,Head of Centre said 'It was very
pleasing to hear the Minister praise the work of the FSC in playing a
leading role in developing The Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto and
for our work with schools as part of the London Challenge. Mr Shaw is also
keen to 'make the National Parks more accessible to inner city youngsters
who ought to have the opportunity to visit "this wonderful national
asset". 'It was a very productive visit even if we slowed him down to his
next visit by our famous sticky toffee pudding !'
