Spotted an interesting plant or animal on a country walk, but don't have your identification books with you? Do you have an iPhone? Technology moves on and iPhones are great gadgets, though Sue would say that I spend too much time on it !

The Field Studies Council now have five of our fold-out charts available as iPhone apps. Each guide has colour images, notes and background information to a range of common species. The handy filter system helps by limiting the results based on easy features such as colour, shape, number of legs and habitat. Ideal for use outdoors these guides will help you find out what lives in the open spaces of Threlkeld as well as ponds and streams.
