MAKING SURE YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ALL THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO WHICH YOU ARE ENTITLED The five district councils in Cumbria have teamed up to provide an advice service on housing and council tax benefits. Lots of people do not know about/claim for the benefits to which they are entitled. Financial assistance may be available even if you are working, and also if you are claiming other benefits such as Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance. A special benefit helpline has been established for this service: 0845 300 5023 You can get information and advice over the telephone. Forms can be sent to you - but if you have difficulty filling these in, staff may be able to visit you personally to provide assistance.
