Blencathra Centre

Blencathra FSC has won a Gold award for its environmental approach. This is an award for organisations and companies who have a fully implemented Environmental Management Systems and are demonstrating continual improvement of their environmental performance.

Blencathra has earned a Gold award from Cumbria Business Environment Network (CBEN), which recognises companies for being environmentally responsible andoperating within strict European guidelines to minimise their impact on the environment.

Blencathra already holds Silver and Bronze awards, and gaining the Gold accolade shows that the Centre has reached a level of excellence in identifying risks, put procedures into place to manage their potential impacts, and planned for continued performance improvements.

Head of Centre Tim Foster said good environmental practices would soon become commonplace for all businesses, and by acting now Blencathra was saving money, garnering some good public relations and most importantly promoting environmental understanding to all our students.
